About Shared Health Services

Successful wound care and hyperbaric medicine programs aren’t built by chance — they’re built with purpose, precision, and the right partner.

Shared Health Services is not a plug-and-play vendor. We’re a high-touch team that helps hospitals and physician practices build sustainable, high-performing service lines that actually work.

We deliver custom strategies, systems, and purpose-built tools for long-term success — staying connected to your team, strengthening workflows, simplifying documentation, and stepping in when needed to help your team lead with confidence and deliver compliant, consistent results.

Our Story

Built From Experience. Grounded in Purpose.

Our mission didn’t begin in a boardroom. It began in a hospital hallway — as a family navigating the realities of chronic wounds and high-stakes care decisions for loved ones. The gaps were clear. Amputation was on the table. And the only way forward was through timely intervention, focused advocacy, and a determination to preserve both dignity and independence.

We saw firsthand how easily medically complex patients could fall through the cracks. One of our loved ones, a diabetic grandmother, faced a likely amputation. Another, our grandfather, developed a chronic wound that turned out to be osteomyelitis — a serious bone infection that’s often misdiagnosed and requires advanced treatment. Thankfully, with early intervention, advanced wound care, and adjunctive hyperbaric oxygen therapy, amputation was avoided and limb integrity preserved — allowing both family members to maintain mobility, independence, dignity, and quality of life. Both lived out their days with both feet and all ten toes.

That experience didn’t just change our family — it shaped our company. What began as a family navigating blind spots in the system became a company built to close them: with strategy forged in urgency, precision honed by experience, and a fire that hasn’t dimmed in nearly three decades.

We believe wound care is more than a business — it’s our passion — and we’ve seen the difference it makes when complex, non-healing wounds are met with the right support.

From Patient Advocacy to Industry Leadership

David Davis, our founder and CEO, didn’t build Shared Health Services from behind a desk — although, let’s be honest, that’s where you’ll find him most days now (virtually, of course). He’s 65 and still helping our partners run some of the most compliant, operationally sound wound care and hyperbaric programs in the country.

A  respiratory therapist and certified hyperbaric technologist — one of the first in the state of Tennessee. A father and grandfather. A small business owner. A public servant. A problem solver. A guy in a suit who would cover a hyperbaric shift when no one else could — not for attention, but because the job needed to be done.

David never made a show of his commitment to quality, honest, patient-first care. He just showed up — for the patients, the staff, and our partners. And he still does. Whether it’s troubleshooting an oxygen system, mentoring a new director, or stepping in to make sure a clinic keeps running, he’s the one people call.

He’s never looked for recognition. He just believes in doing the work — the right way — and making sure others have what they need to do the same.

The message was always the same: If we’re asking you to do it, we’ve done it too.

A Family-Driven Mission

Since 1996, Shared Health Services has focused on one mission: to deliver high-quality, clinically sound wound care and hyperbaric services that make a meaningful difference by preserving dignity, mobility, and quality of life.

The company’s roots are personal — born from family experiences navigating non-healing wounds and complex care decisions. Those early challenges sparked a commitment to better care models and inspired a new kind of partnership between hospitals and wound care experts.

Over the years, SHS has evolved from a small, family-driven initiative into a nationally trusted support model used by hospitals and physician practices across the country.

Today, that same spirit of hands-on leadership continues through David’s children —

Rachel and Matthew Davis — who help lead the company with the same values it was built on: clinical integrity, operational excellence, and a quiet willingness to do the hard work.

Rachel, our Vice President of Safety & Compliance, also serves as the Technical Director of one of our flagship HBOT programs — leading frontline operations while supporting SHS partners with compliance coaching, documentation guidance, and clinical oversight. She bridges the gap between regulatory detail and real-world patient care, and she does it with consistency and grit.

Matthew, our Vice President of Administration & Corporate Development, oversees partner onboarding, reporting, logistics, and strategic planning. He works behind the scenes to keep programs moving and teams supported — with clear communication and practical follow-through.

Together, they carry forward the SHS legacy with a steady kind of leadership, rooted in experience, driven by mission, and always focused on building something that lasts — not just in name, but in action.

We collaborate closely with every partner to clarify goals, solve pain points, and meet patient needs — then deliver the tools, education, and peer-level guidance to build something truly exceptional: programs that last.

What We Do

Lasting Partnerships, Proven Support

For more than 25 years, Shared Health Services has partnered with hospitals and physician practices to build wound care programs that last — grounded in strong clinical collaboration, compliant systems, and a deep commitment to doing what’s right.

What sets SHS apart is our ability to maintain long-lasting, trust-based relationships. Some of our existing contracts date back to the mid-1990s — not because of binding agreements, but because of shared values and the outcomes we’ve built together.

We're here to support your team with proven strategies and clinical expertise — the success is yours to own.
