Every year, billions of dollars are spent treating chronic wounds. And data
shows that the number of wounds requiring treatment is growing each year by
about 15 percent. It is also of great concern that as our population ages, our
nation’s elderly will develop numerous chronic diseases associated with their
chronic wounds if those wounds are not addressed properly. That is one reason
CMS is moving toward a pay for performance model which will reward those Wound
Care Centers that follow the metrics as defined by CMS for the treatment of
patients. Our Wound Care software has been approved by CMS as a means of
transmitting attainment of those treatment metrics.

Patients with nonhealing wounds can move quickly from productive, mobile
lifestyles to disability and emotional distress as a result of these dreadful,
debilitating, nonhealing wounds; resulting in patients becoming unable to work
and becoming dependent upon their families and society, as well.
In many patients, their wounds are the result of years of neglect from
conditions such as diabetes and a variety of other diseases that affect the
veins and arteries. More than eighty thousand patients experience amputations
each year due to lower extremity diabetic ulcers that progress and become
necrotic due to what many times can begin only as minor cuts or accidents that
for the nondiabetic patient would not be problematic.
Wounds that won’t heal are often signs of larger and more complicated problems.
That’s where Shared Health Services, Inc. provides your institution with both a
clinically and financially viable Comprehensive Wound Care Center.
At Shared Health Services, we work very hard to tailor our programs around your
hospitals’ needs. Whether your hospital needs the services of a nationally known
Wound Care consultant or a full service turnkey Wound Care and Hyperbaric
Medicine Center we can help!

In some situations, our hospitals request that we only link Hyperbaric Medicine
(HBO) to their existing Wound Care services. In other situations, they request
assistance with both Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. Still some hospitals
request that we only help them with the development and management of their
Wound Care Center.
The beauty and uniqueness of Shared Health Services is that we work with you to
mold a program that best fits your hospital’s needs and we also work hard to
make it easy to do business with us. Above all, we work very hard to insure that
we protect our hospitals at all times and that your programs are Centers of
Excellence both clinically and financially.
When you partner with Shared Health Services, we will utilize some of the most
advanced therapies available as well as address the underlying cause of your
