David Davis, President
Former United States Congressman David Davis, BS, RRT, CHT holds a degree in Organizational Management from Milligan College, an A.S. in Respiratory Therapy from California College for the Health Sciences, and Certification in Respiratory Care from East Tennessee State University. During his 30 years in the health care industry, he managed several Respiratory Care Departments throughout the Southeastern U.S., Started and managed a very successful multi-state home medical equipment company, Advanced Home Care, in 1986, Served as a Joint Commission surveyor and founded Shared Health Services in 1996. Known as a leader in his local community and in his home state, he has served as a Leadership Council Member for the National Federation of Independent Business; as Chairman, Medicare Part B, Tennessee Association for Home Care; as Clinical Adjunct Faculty Member, Respiratory Care Department, East Tennessee State University; and as a member of the American Association for Respiratory Care.
He has been a Board Member of Coalition for Kids, Communities in Schools, and Crumley House - a head injury support group. A former member of the Tennessee Legislature, David represented House District 6 in the 101st, 102nd and 103rd Tennessee General Assemblies, and served on the Committees for Government Operation and Transportation. David Davis has spent many years working with federal and state lawmakers, HBO and Wound Care physicians, the Undersea Hyperbaric Medical Society, and others to insure the long term viability of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.
Most recently, he was chosen by “The Business Journal” as a “Health Care Hero” for his efforts in health care throughout the nation. As a former member of the Congress of the United States, David has taken a leadership role in dealing with health care issues and has been a champion for hospitals and physicians, throughout our nation.
Carol Aiken, Vice President of Clinical OperationsCarol Aiken, BSN, RN, WCC, CHT and a Hyperbaric Technologist earned her degree from East Tennessee State University. She has had many years of experience in both clinical and administrative nursing. Prior to joining Shared Health Services, Carol has served as a hospital Nursing Supervisor; Head Nurse of a Medical Unit for a regional hospital system, and as a critical care nurse. She has also served as an Infectious Disease Nurse. She received her training in Hyperbaric Medicine at Palmetto Richlands Hospital in conjunction with the South Carolina College of Medicine. She maintains responsibility for the management, staffing, operation and oversight of all of Shared Health Services’ Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Centers throughout the United States.
Rusty Crowe, Vice President for Business DevelopmentRusty Crowe received his BS from East Tennessee State University, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from Atlanta Law School. He brings over 30 years of experience in the service-oriented public sector to Shared Health Services. His diverse managerial background includes work with the Army Security Agency and the FBI; and most recently he has served the state of Tennessee as a State Senator for the past 20 years and has successfully directed a variety of statewide programs as a Commissioner for the State of Tennessee. He has also worked as an adjunct professor and in Higher Education Administration for 23 years. His primary duties are as Vice President for Business Development and planning. He has received his training, as well, in Hyperbaric Medicine from Palmetto Health Richland/University of South Carolina School of Medicine, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Toni Turner, Corporate Wound Care ConsultantToni Turner, CWS, FCCWS, RRT, CHT, one of the most sought after Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine professionals throughout the United States, has broad experience with the development and management of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine programs. She has extensive knowledge of Medicare’s National Coverage Policies and how they affect the practice of our client facilities; giving our clientele the confidence to provide progressive patient care while maximizing their reimbursement. After practicing as a Respiratory Therapist for ten years, Toni completed her hyperbaric training and became a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist. She has successfully redirected failing Hyperbaric Medicine programs, ultimately generating millions of dollars and producing viable clinical outcomes; redirecting one of these programs into profitable Wound and Lymphedema Centers presently generating $4+ MM annual revenue.
Toni has also hosted national hyperbaric physician training courses. In 2001 Toni passed the rigorous national certification board directed at physicians, credentialing her as a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS), and recently has earned the distinguished designation of Fellow of the College of Certified Wound Specialists (FCCWS). In March of 2005, the Academy of Wound Stakeholders chose to utilize her clinics and the data collected from them to present to CMS as support to a proposed reimbursement strategy. She is frequently consulted for reimbursement guidance and research by the American Academy of Wound Management (AAWM) Board of Directors as well as other clinicians and facilities around the country. Toni has participated in many abstracts and publications in journals, books and national magazines.
Her reputation for establishing Comprehensive Regional Wound Centers has been sought out by the National Lymphedema Network (NLN) where she is scheduled to speak at their annual conference in 2006 as well as The George Washington University in Washington, DC, where she has lectured at their National Wound Care Conference and is currently under contract to evaluate potential expansion of their Wound Care program. Toni Turner continues to progress her passion by assisting facilities and physicians throughout the country in creating ethical, cost effective and patient focused Centers of Excellence.
